February 23, 2011

The Breathalyzer – you probably think it’s just for those who may have a drinking problem. Well, not anymore. There’s a new version of the breathalyzer which is being used (can you believe it) to help with weight loss. The ReeVue Indirect Calorimeter is a device which is used somewhat like a breathalyzer to perform a 10-minute test which checks a person’s metabolic rate and ascertains how many calories that person requires on a daily basis to maintain or lose weight. Right now the ReeVue Calorimeter is only found at a few health clubs and doctors’ offices, but with...

February 14, 2011

Did you know that there is a link between the amount and quality of your sleep and your weight? Actually, the link is between the amount and quality of your sleep and your metabolism, but you probably know that higher metabolism generally means less fat on your body. Sorry pet lovers, I too love our furry friends, but you might want to re-think letting them sleep with you.  Take a look at this article from WebMD.Com.

Weight Loss Advice From Dr. Al Sears

January 14, 2011

I just received the following email from Dr. Al Sears, whom I’ve been following for years.  I am a devoted advocate of his PACE Program for fitness.  In this brief email, he gives one of the most understandable descriptions of why we are fat.  It’s worth the few minutes it takes to read.  I truly believe it will help you if you are struggling with weight issues. Coincidentally (or not so coincidentally), Dr. Sears’ advice is very consistent with the information in Tim Ferriss’ new book, 4 Hour Body, which I recently read.  I am currently testing the program...
