About Our Fitness Philosophy

I Dig Fitness! I really do. Being fit is the first factor to living not only a healthy life but a good life. What I have found is that fitness is not easy without a great attitude. If you like being fit, and you like looking good, then fitness will be easy. If you look at it as a chore, as something that has to be done, then you will not be very successful in your health and fitness.

Let me ask you something. When you were a kid, did you think to yourself, “I need to ride my bike three times this week for at least 30 minutes at time,” or “I must go play ball continuously for 30 minutes three times a week”? Of course you didn’t. You were active because it was fun.

Infomercials and fitness gurus have taken us down the wrong road, recommending long hours of boring aerobics or endless workouts using various contraptions (which frequently do more harm than good). Listen, you can get all the workout you need using two free resources: your body and gravity.

I believe most people fail with their fitness programs because the fitness programs fail them. Boring, repetitive workouts done at some fitness center which you have to load up and drive to several times a week is a recipe for failure. Wouldn’t you be a lot more likely to actually do your workouts if they were both fun and convenient?

That’s the concept of this website. Making fitness fun – and convenient. So get started. Play ball with your kids. Work in your garden. Walk in the woods. Run on the trails. Kayak down (or up, for the hardcore) that mountain stream. Ride your bike around the neighborhood with your kids or significant other. Play golf (walking, of course). Water ski. Swim. Do yoga, tai chi, martial arts. You get the idea.

In other words, make fitness fun and you’ll dig fitness too. Focus more on having fun and less on getting in shape. If you do, you’ll have more fun and get in better shape too. In fact, do something you think of as fun, and you’ll succeed without effort in your fitness goals.

And while we’re at it, I need to remind you that health has more components than just physical fitness. You need to look after you emotional health, your spiritual health, your nutritional health, and your mental health too. In other words, to be truly “fit,” your whole being must be fit – not just the physical being.

On this site I will bring to you simple, helpful tips that are designed not only to get you fit but to help your attitude so that you will want to be more fit and healthy. It’s easy to look good and feel good when you can’t wait for your next workout or activity. Like our motto says, “if you dig it, you’ll do it!”

Best of luck and I can’t wait to hear your success stories.

Did you write this on your own? Or did you have somebody write it for you? Just asking cause it seems very good.

No outsourcing here. For better or worse, I wrote it. Thanks.
