Gin & Tonic, Uh, I Mean “Gin & Raisins”

This one’s for you folks who are not in their 20s any more. You’ll know if I’m talking to you if you have the aches and pains that come along with developing arthritis. There are all kinds of prescription and over-the-counter medications which supposedly will make you feel better. Personally, I am skeptical of everything produced by big pharma.

Enter the Wilen Sisters. If you don’t know who they are, they are natural health advocates who have demonstrated an amazingly effective array of folk and natural remedies on major television networks and in their books.

Here’s a sample of one of their remedies for arthritis which you can try right now. I’ve seen the “gin-soaked raisin cure” for arthritis several times in my reading, but it probably was either originated or made popular by the Wilen Sisters. Here’s what you need:

  • One pound of golden raisins
  • Approximately one pin off gin
  • Glass bowl (Pyrex or something similar)
  • Glass jar with lid

All you have to do is to spread the golden raisins on the bottom of the glass bowl and pour in enough gin to cover them. Wait until all the gin is absorbed, which could take 5 to 7 days. It’s a good idea to stir them occasionally to be sure all the raisins are exposed to the gin.

After the gin has been absorbed, put the raisins in a jar with a lid and keep it closed. It is not necessary (or recommended) that the raisins be refrigerated.

Each day, eat nine raisins – exactly and only nine raisins a day. Don’t worry. There’s almost no alcohol in the raisins by the time they are ready to eat – so enjoy. The Wilen Sisters have received great testimonials on this remedy alleging improved mobility and significantly reduced pain from arthritis. Hey, there’s one way to satisfy yourself whether this works, so get started trying it out.

Look – if it works, you’ll be able to be more active and have more fun. Remember, we dig fitness!
