Yep, getting up and having a nice, “healthy,” glass of orange juice always seemed like a wise choice to me. Much better than, say, a sugar-laden soda. Don’t laugh. Lots of people have a soft drink (or two) in the morning.
Now I find that an 8 ounce glass of this “healthy” drink contains about 8 teaspoons of sugar (fructose). By way of reference, a soda typically contains about 10 teaspoons of sugar. So, the OJ is not really the best choice after all.
That fruit sugar will spike your insulin levels, and elevated insulin levels contribute to high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, and weight gain.

Hi, My name is zach clark and i wanted to say that i agree with your comment on drinking orange juice in the morning it is loaded with sugars that you dont want in your diet im a bodybuilder from missouri and im 17. I used to say the same thing about that \"juicey\" beverage lol until i found out the truth about it. know my morning breakfast consists of a protien supplement (shake) egg whites which are very good for you some form of grilled unseasoned red meat and some oatmeal and the oatmeal that you eat to give you the energy to hit the gym like me doesn\’t have to be inflavoered it can be really any flavor such as apple cinnamon or blueberry, etc. lol well Thank you ,Zach Clark
